They may say they are not competing with each other but there is no way Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone can escape comparisons with each other. A few months ago Deepika took her first step in Hollywood with her film xXx: Return of the Xander Cage with Vin Diesel. And though the critics weren’t exactly gaga over the film, her role was appreciated.

Now, it’s Priyanka’s turn. While the Quantico beauty has a stronger hold in Hollywood thanks to her work in television and the music industry, it’s only now that she has had a full-fledged movie release – Baywatch. And the results are out. Baywatch has outshined xXX: Return of the Xander Cage on the opening weekend in the west. The movie hasn’t released in India or the UAE yet but it has done well in America where the holiday weekend earned $22m. Comparatively, Deepika’s film had earned around $20m in its first weekend.

The only similarity is that Baywatch too hasn’t found favour with critics though that hasn’t affected its box office performance. While xXx was made at a whopping sum of $85m, Baywatch was made at a sum of $69m.
 Wonder what the results will be once it releases in India and the UAE!
